The pearls of Lake Como : suggestions for a wedding on the italian lakes

There are four  enchanting towns on the central Lake Como , definitely are the most romantic places to tied the knot. If it is just an elopement or a big party , here you can find the top lakeside  wedding destinations in Italy.

Bellagio, set inside two branches of Como lake, is a small and old village with panoramic lake views, elegant villas, picturesque stone houses and stairways, beaches and parks. It’s the ideal place for an intimate wedding or a for a pictures photo tour. The ceremony venue is a library in the middle of the town and in summer it’s also possible to have the civil ceremony outdoor in the courtyard. For a catholic wedding there is a beautiful church few km outside Bellagio, located on the hill with great view on the mountains and lake. The flower gardens of Villa Melzi and Villa Serbelloni are beautiful backgrounds for the wedding pictures, as private villas on the lake or liberty style hotels can accommodate the wedding reception. 

Another pearl of the lake is Varenna, a picturesque village characterized by an almost uninterrupted succession of low and uniform houses, sometimes with frescoes or coats of arms, leaning against each other and combined with typical arches, with long and narrow streets that fan out and fall straight and steep to the lake.  You can decide to have your wedding on the 14^th century church in the main square of the town or having an outdoor civil or protestant wedding on the lake view terrace of Villa Cipressi, a charming and old villa hotel  on the lake shores.

On the opposite side of the lake, just in front of Bellagio, Tremezzo is a jewel of “Mediterranean sea between the mountains”! Here you will find historic villas and  enchanting gardens, as for example the beautiful Villa Carlotta,  adorned in spring with rhododendrons and azaleas, where you can tie the knot on the  panoramic terrace.

Last but not least the small borgo of Lenno, with the exclusive Villa del Balbaniello , which stands on the tip of a steep promontory overlooking Lake Como, almost opposite Bellagio.  The villa can be reached by boat from Lenno and it’s a luxury venue for civil  and religious weddings, arranged under the important Loggia or on the lake view terrace and can be rented as exclusive use for aperitif and wedding reception dinners. This venue is very popular and it must be booked in advance.  In Lenno you will find also nice restaurants and private villas that can be rented for wedding receptions and accommodation.

Christmas inspiration ideas for a winter wedding

Here we are counting down the days to Christmas and we are immersed in a pre-Christmas atmosphere.

This year we will have a romantic wedding on a Christmas Eve. Therefore here are some ideas that you can use during the holidays, but also for a winter wedding! ( For example these lovely jars decorated with yarn that can be used for both case- pics from Capitol romance and Dottieangelblogspot)

Stiamo già pensando al Natale e siamo già immerse in un'atmosfera pre-natalizia. Quest'anno avremo anche un matrimonio romantico la vigilia di Natale. Ecco quindi alcune idee che si possono utilizzare durante le feste, ma anche per un matrimonio invernale!! Hanging advent calendar tags can be used also to mark the wedding reception table and hang on trees. These can be bought at Da Wanda online shop. Another idea is to hang the escort cards on firewood ( Martha Stewart Weddings) or on the christmas tree with decor ( Foxhill).

Le etichette numeriche del calendario dell' Avvento possono essere utilizzate come un'alternativa al classico tableau marriage, appendendole su un ramo e assegnando ad ogni numero ( di tavolo)  i nomi degli ospiti.

Vintage Wedding in Tuscany

Here the official pictures ( thanks Andrea and Daniele, really a good job!!) of another wedding in the tuscan countryside. Instead of the classic traditional wedding, the couple chose to have a vintage wedding theme, with a lot of details, from brooches on the bouquets to doilies and 45 rpm record as wedding favor.

Ecco un altro matrimonio nella campagna toscana ( grazie per le bellissime foto ad Andrea e Daniele) , la coppia ha optato per un stile vintage, con diversi accessori : dalle spille d'epoca nei bouquet alle simpatiche bomboniere: centrini  per le signore e i dischi 45 giri per i signori.
