For a civil wedding you can choose between 3 different venues. The most formal is the Red Room in the Campidoglio, an elegant square on “the Capitoline Hill”, one of the seven hills of Rome. The room is very elegant and the venue is central located , next to the Ruin of the Roman Forum. The small chapel of Villa Lais an ideal setting for an intimate wedding, the 19th century villa offer a frescoes chapel and a nice garden . Another option for large weddings is the deconsecrated church of S. Maria in Tempulo. The building is rustic and simple, but in a nice and tranquil area. Just outside Rome centre you can find also private villas and restaurants where it’s possible to have both civil ceremony and reception in the same place. Rome is also rich of beautiful and historic churches and it’s possible to get married also in the Saint Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City.
In Rome you have too many locations for photos , so you are spoiled for choice. We can begin with the Trevi Fountain, the most famous and largest baroque fountain in Rome. It was made world-famous by the Italian movie Fellini’s “La Dolce Vita” and it became very popular among lovers and couples. According to the traditional legend, if visitors throw a coin into the fountain, they are ensured a return to this beautiful city.
What about the Spanish Steps? A long staircase of 138 steps, that connects the church of Trinità dei Monti to the square Piazza di Spagna. It’s a nice background for amazing pictures. Castel St. Angelo, the Coliseum and Villa Borghese are other perfect locations for a” pictures tour”, by the way you can consider also beautiful gardens for a lovely atmosphere and romantic portraits.
If you are visiting Rome and would like only to have some wedding pictures, we can arrange the bridal dress and tuxedo rental and other details like the bouquet , a vintage Fiat 500 or a Vespa and of course the photographer. We can arrange also a romantic dinner for 2 on a top terrace.
